Are there any restrictions?

Weight and size:
Harnesses and bungee are carefully matched with each student based on their unique bodies. For safety purposes, we require current accurate measurements of waist, thighs and weight. This personal information will remain private, only to be seen by the instructors fitting you for your class.

The current harnesses we have in stock can accommodate the following measurements:
Weight: 110-220 pounds; Waist: 27-45”; Thigh: 12-31”

Fly Factor, LLC is committed to offering classes to EVERY BODY. As our business grows, we will continue to upgrade our equipment and invest in larger and smaller sizes of harnesses and bungees. If we currently do not have a harness in your size, please reach out to let us know so we can order appropriate sizes in the future. Fly Factor, LLC is actively researching other harness options to accommodate a wider range of sizes.

Other Restrictions: it is not recommended that students who are pregnant or have serious heart conditions participate in bungee fitness. If a student has any doubts about whether or not they should participate in this type of exercise, we encourage any student to reach out to their physician for approval.

What should I wear?

We recommend a form fitting tank top or t-shirt, leggings or slim fitting sweatpants to avoid fabric getting tangled in the bungee or harness. Some people find that an extra layer on the upper leg such as bike shorts provides more comfort where the leg straps of the harness tend to rub. Feel free to wear slim fitting layers that you can peel off as you warm up as needed. Shoes are not permitted in the gym space. Clean bare feet or grippy socks are welcome.

Should I eat before I come to bungee class?

The answer is yes… and no. A bungee workout is a serious (and seriously fun!) workout. Your body will certainly need to have plenty of nutrients and hydration in your system to fuel your exercise during class. That being said, please eat meals at least an hour before class, or have nutrient rich small snacks less than an hour before you arrive. The waist of the harness will apply pressure to your belly, and we don’t want anyone to feel sick to their stomach from eating too much too close to class time. Food is not allowed in the gym space, but please bring your water bottle! We will take water breaks.

How does it feel to fly?

Amazing! And it is a true cardiovascular and muscle-building workout. Our instructors will pace the class to warm everyone’s bodies up nice and easy before diving into more intense aspects of the class. We will cool down for a few minutes before we end each session. It is normal to be a little sore after starting a new type of workout. Our goal is to provide a fun, safe and full workout experience. At Fly Factor our goal is for students to leave class tired and happy!

Is bungee fitness ok for my joints?

The support of the bungee cord and harness provide a low impact exercise experience, protecting joints and allowing for movement opportunities that might otherwise be unavailable. As always, if you have questions about whether or not bungee fitness is right for you and your body, we encourage students to contact their medical providers for guidance.

What ages can join a bungee class?

At the moment, regularly scheduled classes at Fly Factor are open to ages 14 and up. Parents of minors between ages 14-17 must sign a waiver on behalf of their child. However, birthday parties and private classes are open to children ages 8 and up. Birthday parties and private classes (group or private) are fun for adults, too!
